How to Support Endangered Languages on #GivingTuesday

We live in a critical time for endangered languages, with over half of the world’s languages at risk of disappearing before 2100.

We sense there is a groundswell in endangered language activism in part thanks to UNESCO’s International Year of Indigenous Languages (#IYIL2019) and all of the organizations around the world working tirelessly on this cause, and we are happy to be part of that global effort.

There are a few tangible ways that you can help us continue our mission to document languages at risk of disappearing:

  • If you are shopping online this holiday season, don’t forget about us! You can generate donations and make a difference for Living Tongues Institute. Amazon Smile will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases to Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages when you shop through the Amazon Smile portal: https://smile.amazon.com/

  • December 2nd, 2019 is #GivingTuesday – a day of international charitable giving. This is a perfect time to make a donation. From buying Living Tongues merchandise or by making a one-time end-of-year donation, there are many ways to contribute right here: https://livingtongues.org/how-to-help/support/
